The Durand Family has been in the automotive business for over 84 years. In June of 2005, we purchased the Toyota Ford Dealership in Bellows Falls, Vermont. The Automotive History of the Durand Family

1924
George A. Durand opens his first gas station on Main St. in the town of Hudson, MA Selling Tidol Gasoline from 55 gallon drums.

1926
George moves the gas station to a new location on Main St. and expands to a full service garage.

1949
Durand Chevrolet is established when George Durand purchases the Chevrolet Garage located across the street from the Tidol garage.

1961
George's son Richard becomes the dealer for Durand Chevrolet

1976
The Chevrolet dealership survives a massive fire started in an old factory located directly next to the dealership.

1980
Richard's son Stephen enters the family business and becomes the service manager of the Chevrolet Dealership.

1985
Richard's son Richard Jr. enters the family business and becomes the sales manager of the chevrolet dealership.

1990
The Chevrolet dealership relocates to Washington St. in Hudson and move into a brand new facility.

1992
The Chevrolet dealership acquires the local Oldsmobile franchize and moves it to the new Washington street location.

1998
Stephen is named the dealer of The Chevrolet/Oldsmobile dealership

2005
Stephen and Richard Jr. expand and purchase the Toyota/Ford Dealership in Bellows Falls Vermont and establish the Durand Automotive Group.
